Management Team Peter Fisk Managing Director Peter Fisk Managing Director Pete established Pelagian in 2002 after many years working in the subsea telecoms, renewable energy and survey sectors. His main responsibility is business strategy but he also continues to act as one of Pelagian’s principal consultants. His key areas of expertise are in subsea cable permitting, installation project management and the environmental impact of submarine cables in fragile habitats. Pete has a military background having served with the Royal Engineers in many theatres of operation around the globe. In his career, he has worked for a number of high profile offshore companies including Fugro, TE SubCom and Global Marine. Tony Fisk Commercial Director Tony Fisk Commercial Director Tony is a skilled and experienced functional Director and Senior Manager with a multi-disciplinary Technical, Programme and Project Management background, and over 27 years experience. Tony started out in 1988 in marine survey working for Wimpol Ltd worldwide, in cable survey, cable installation, post-lay operations and reporting, before moving into the supplemental fields of Route survey and installation navigation project management, Route survey planning, cable engineering and the like. A move to Cable & Wireless (Marine) Ltd marked expansion to include Cable Route and System permitting in 1993, initially for the FLAG system for both the survey and then installation. A very successful period ensued, as an Installation project manager within CWM’s Installation Department on a number of systems including FLAG, Gemini and others. In 1999, Tony moved into mobile telephone networks, becoming Head of 3G R&D Programme management with Lucent Technologies, before joining network operator Orange in the UK to undertake 3G network roll-out to customers. Tony then diversified into Information Security, initially as the Head of Security Programmes for France Telecom Group, and finally as the Director of Security for Orange UK. Following success within both France Telecom and Orange, including leading the achievement of ISO27001 certification for Orange UK, Tony left in 2009 to become a specialist consultant. Tony joined Pelagian in early 2010, to support the business and his brother Pete in balancing business and military life. As a retired Royal Engineers Territorial Army officer in addition to his civilian business career, Tony brings a complex blend of skills and experience to the table. Tony is a Chartered Hydrographic Surveyor as a Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, a Member of the Institute of Royal Engineers, a FIG/IHO Cat A Hydrographic surveyor and a degree qualified Oceanographer. Rupert Ladds Personnel Manager Rupert Ladds Personnel Manager Rupert joined Pelagian in 2007 and has overseen the steady growth of Pelagian’s personnel business in the subsea telecom and renewable energy sectors. His current role is the day to day running of Pelagian’s offshore personnel department and he is responsible for finding the right candidates to fill a variety of offshore roles. Rupert studied Mechanical Engineering, specialising in offshore construction and fluid mechanics. He has a strong background in logistical planning gained with the British Army and as a project manager in construction. Justin Hawkins Principal Consultant, Subsea Cable Engineering Justin Hawkins Principal Consultant, Subsea Cable Engineering Justin has 25 years of offshore expertise and joined Pelagian in 2007. He has held a number of roles including General Manager and Subsea Cables Consultant. His current role is Principal Consultant providing key consultancy in cable route engineering, desk top studies, geospatial data management and cable burial assessment. Prior to joining Pelagian, Justin had a successful and diverse career in the offshore survey and cable installation sectors, working for Fugro, Alcatel-Lucent and RWE Npower Renewables among others. John Hunt Principal Consultant, Permitting and Regulatory Services John Hunt Principal Consultant, Permitting and Regulatory Services John brings over 25 years of industry knowledge to Pelagian and has contributed to Pelagian’s knowledge base in stakeholder management for subsea cable systems. His current role is to manage the permitting and regulatory process for large infrastructure projects, liaising with system owners, survey and cable installation contractors, government bodies and 3rd party seabed users such as oil companies. John studied Geography, Geology and Hydrographic Surveying and is a specialist in geospatial data management for marine data, having worked for Fugro, Alcatel-Lucent and the UK Hydrographic Office.
